The Discover SCUBA Program is designed to let you try SCUBA before committing to the Open Water Course. This "Experience" program will introduce you to the basic skills and safety rules of SCUBA Diving via a short lecture sesion and a pool session. The minimum age for the Discover SCUBA Program is 10 years of age, but we also offer the "Bubblemaker" program for children ages 8 and above. (Please see below for more information on the Bubblemaker program.)
Throughout the Discover SCUBA and Bubblemaker programs, an Instructor will guide and supervise students through the safety briefing, equipment orientation, and basic skills. Once these segments are completed, students will be given the opportunity to dive in the pool under the close supervision of your Instructor.
The Bubblemaker Program is a version of the Discover SCUBA Program designed for children ages 8-10 who would like to participate in SCUBA diving. The main difference between this Bubblemaker Program and the Discover SCUBA Program is that children age 8-10 will dive to a maximum depth of 6 feet under Instructor supervision.
If you have a group (adults or children) who would like to try SCUBA, please contact us as soon as possible to schedule your Discover SCUBA or Bubblemaker experience! These programs are great for Boy/Girl Scouts, Teambuilding, Student Incentives, or just for a group who wants to try it out! This course can be flexibly scheduled in a single day or across multiple days, so it's possible no matter how busy your schedule.
Please note that neither the Discover SCUBA or the Bubblemaker Programs result in a certification for SCUBA. Additional training is required to dive safely without the supervision of a Professional Instructor or Divemaster. Students who enroll in this course and decide to continue thier training with the Open Water Certification Course will recieve the Discover SCUBA tuition fee as a discount to thier Open Water tuition fee.
