Begin your SCUBA adventure with the PADI Open Water Diver Course!  This course will teach students the fundamental skills and knowledge that is needed to dive with a buddy, independent of professional supervision!  A PADI professional instructor will lead you through the entire course to ensure understanding and mastery of skills and knowledge.

• Dive with a buddy, independent of supervision, while applying the knowledge and skills you learn in this course, within the limits of your training and experience.
• Obtain air-fills, SCUBA equipment, and other services.
• Plan, conduct, and log open water no-decompression dives when properly equipped and when accompanied by a buddy in conditions with which you have training and/or experience.
• Continue your dive training with the Advanced Open Water or Specialty courses.

This course consists of 3 portions:

	Knowledge Development: You will review the course manual and DVD, complete the "Knowledge Reviews" at the end of each section, and note any areas you would like to receive additional help/information.  In the class, we will review key information, practice planning open water dives, and take the quizzes and exams.
	Confined Water Skills Introduction/Practice: In the pool, a PADI instructor will introduce, explain and demonstrate skills, giving you time to achieve mastery.  Safety procedures, standard dive practices, and equipment use will be covered in the pool.
	Open Water Checkout Dives: In an open-water environment, you and your instructor will help you perform the skills you have previously mastered for real-world underwater experience.  Along the way, we will explore the underwater environment that we are in, looking for aquatic life, treasure, and anything else along the way.

We will coordinate rental SCUBA equipment for your course, but students need to provide their own personal snorkeling gear.  The typical student can expect to spend between $150-$200 for a high-quality set of snorkeling equipment, which will last for years with proper maintenance.
